An expert involved in the development of the timeshare industry in the Caribbean has called for better participation from regional governments at the industry’s annual conference.
Director of Resort Sales and Services for Interval International Neil Kolton said attendance would help Caribbean destinations take their timeshare business to the next level.

“We would like to see more Caribbean countries send their government and tourism officials to conferences like this,” he told reporters at the conference in Miami.

The United States remains the main timeshare market in the world but Kolton said the Caribbean remains the most sought-after destination for tourists.

“They need to hear why they should invest and develop their market, what are the incentives,” he said.
“We would like to see more presence from countries that offer tremendous opportunities for vacation ownership development,” the expert added.
Kolton also reported that recent years have seen tremendous growth in the development of timeshare properties in the region.
However, he added that the industry is growing faster in places where there is already good timeshare development. Here’s a timeshare cancellation letter guide if you’re planning to get rid of it.
