Call center closes, hundreds unemployed

1

Close to 400, mainly young people, are out of work today as the NCO Call Center closed yesterday.

The company shut down after eight years of operating in Antigua and Barbuda.

Staff confirmed that they were paid severance, vacation and other monies owed to them before the closure.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne told those unemployed to consider entrepreneurship as a way of earning an income.

Some of the workers have already secured employment elsewhere and other former NCO workers are actively searching for jobs.
