Cabinet continues to encourage all un-vaccinated adults to take the vaccine

CABINET NOTES:

The primary issue which occupied the Cabinet’s attention is the Covid-19 pandemic, its impact on economic activity, and the slowing uptake of the vaccination required to combat its negative health consequences.

While congratulating all those who have been playing important roles in bringing Antigua and Barbuda to zero on new Covid-19 cases, over the past three weeks of reporting, the Cabinet was quick to point out that an insufficient number of vaccinated adults still challenge the administration’s vaccine program.

“Vaccine hesitancy” is a phenomenon being experienced globally; in some places, the inadequacy of supply of vaccines has prevented many countries from reaching broad swaths of their populations.

That is not the case in Antigua and Barbuda where vaccines are readily available but the un-vaccinated have not been taking the multiple daily opportunities to safeguard themselves from sickness and even death.

Cabinet continues to encourage all un-vaccinated adults to take the vaccine, especially as tourism resumes and many workers return to jobs that had disappeared since March 2020, when the cruise ships discontinued their visits, and very few flights entered Antigua.

  1. Stop referring to the jab as a vaccine because it is not.
It is more accurate to call it THE KILL SHOT!

  2. Why are the people hesitant? One reason for me, you are rushing to inject me and don’t even know anything about me. Did I have the virus before and therefore might be protected? Do I currently have the virus (asymptomatic) and how will my body that is fighting the virus react to the Jab? Would that not be too much for my body and could that be one of the reason why some persons may have severe side effects?

Why done we test people before giving them the jab?

  3. I hope we don’t have to take any.boosters. I am fully vaccinated at present but the mere thiught of having to go back again for another jab, deels like a bit too much extra work to stay alive for this suffering. This is unbearable. Rather take my chances with the reaper.
