A bus driver was convicted of serious indecency but acquitted of rape in a jury verdict yesterday.
The man, in his early 50s, faced charges over a February 2023 incident involving a 21-year-old woman with a developmental disability.
The prosecution argued he drove the victim to an abandoned building and forced her to perform oral sex.
The defence, led by attorney Lawrence Daniels, claimed the relationship was consensual.
The jury found him guilty of serious indecency but not rape.
Sentencing is set for March 14.

This case is disturbing on so many levels. The victim deserves justice.
I’m glad he was convicted of something, but it’s not enough. So many lives ruined here.
The law needs to do more to protect victims in cases like this.
