“Burga” Admits to Double-Murder

Calvin “Burga” James accepted guilt today for killing two women and wounding a man in October 2018.

James pleaded guilty to two counts of murder for the death of his niece, Tahisha Thomas and his nephew’s girlfriend, Sanchezca Charles.

He also pleaded guilty to shooting with intent to murder since he also shot his nephew, Lawrence James during the same incident.

James went on the run after the incident and dominated national headlines for three months before he was captured by police.

At the time of this incident, James had already been facing charges for a violent incident that occurred in 2015.

Last July, he pleaded guilty to attempted murder of his niece, Amanda James and wounding his sister, Ineta Liburd with intent.

During that incident, the man used a taser gun to stun his sister and beat her with a piece of wood.

He later attacked his niece, chopping her about her body with a cutlass.

The court had adjourned sentencing for the 2015 matter as it awaited the indictment of the 2018 matter to be put before the accused.

A joint-sentencing hearing will be conducted for both cases.

    • The only leniency will be that he will not be hung by the neck until dead. Otherwise, he will be in prison forever. Two murders, two attempted murders and one wounding. He done wid!

    • Ahm did I just read some bottomhole comment that said hope he would be given leniency? He dont even deserve to live in prison eating off of tax. What an ass. He shudda shoot smaddy fi you.

  1. Burga knows not to waste the courts time. Burga already made up his mind and know he did the crime so he will be doing time.

    • The monster / killer is hell bend on killing one person in particular and do not care who he has to go through to get to her
He plead guilty to the first attempt on his sister’s life and the courts set him free. They should be held responsible for the killings. He pleads yes, that does not mean he is done. I would not let him see the light of day ever again on this dam earth.

  2. Pleading guilty doesn’t mean he is remorseful. He is just being honest in admitting that he committed the crime. He is a monster and given another opportunity, he would do it again. That’s the nature of Burga. He did it because he wanted to do it. Since the courts are no longer administering the death penalty, this animal must not be allowed to see the light of day again and ought to be put away for life.

  3. You guys are being heartless. The man said he js guilty hence no lengthy trial. Dont you think the court should be lenient.

    • @Just Saying, Just asking! We are heartless and he is the killer????? I would seriously like to hear from you what you suggest to we as a nation who is calling for his neck. are you suggesting, he gets to walk free in 2 yrs? He should not be hang over and over again? Do you know this monster spends yrs in boys detention as a youth? This is not his first dance with the law. Just asking sir / madam. PLEASE EXPLAIN

      • Yes! Please do explain??? His guilty plea is due to over-whelming evidence against him, and the fact that he will get a reduced sentence for pleading guilty. A deliberate double murder and you ask for lenience? Let’s hope that ‘if’ he is ever released, he doesn’t murder one of your loved ones!

  4. He will be out in 10 years along with that other butcher that massacred his ex- girlfriend. There is a community program called that they sign up to in prison and get to work and play just like any free man.
They then get their sentences commuted not by a parole board or any board for that matter but a politician.
They know why they plead guilty. There are people in prison serving longer sentences for possession of the wrong vegetable than murderers, rapists and armed robbers.

  5. First i must expess my sympathy to the family of the victims…. Certainly a void has been created….. On the otherhand, I also sympathize with Burga….. It is quite obvious that the family triggered him off………. Was his actions justified? Certainly no! He did the crime, he must serve the time or suffer the consequences of what the outcome would be…. However, lets not overlook why he committed the crime…. Was he provoked? Even the bible says provoke not to anger…… The bible also says, thou shall not kill…. Then his punishment should be considered based on both conditions taken into consideration….

  6. Interesting… I heard it was over land that wasn’t even his or hers

Murder is the unlawful killing of another human without justification or valid excuse, especially the unlawful killing of another human with malice aforethought.[1][2][3] This state of mind may, depending upon the jurisdiction, distinguish murder from other forms of unlawful homicide, such as (manslaughter).

Manslaughter is killing committed in the absence of malice, brought about by reasonable provocation, or diminished capacity.

Involuntary manslaughter, where it is recognized, is a killing that lacks all but the most attenuated guilty intent, recklessness.

Most societies consider murder to be an extremely serious crime, and thus that a person convicted of murder should receive harsh punishments for the purposes of retribution, deterrence, rehabilitation, or incapacitation.
