Prime Minister Gaston Browne says Antigua and Barbuda must aim to become a “lifestyle superpower,” arguing that the country’s economic gains should translate into better living standards, stronger communities and greater national confidence.
Speaking during Tuesday’s swearing-in ceremony following the April 30 general election, Browne said the government’s development strategy is centered on improving both the country’s economy and the everyday lives of its people.

“We have to continue the transformational build of this country,” Browne said.
He told attendees that the administration’s vision goes beyond economic growth alone and includes “infrastructure, people, competitiveness, pride, environment, safety and security.”
Browne said Antigua and Barbuda must leverage its progress and stability to create a country that is attractive not only to visitors, but also to its own citizens.
“We have to position Antigua and Barbuda as a lifestyle superpower,” he declared.
The Prime Minister linked that ambition to ongoing investments in infrastructure, housing, education and public services, while also stressing the importance of national pride and social development.
He said the country must continue building a society that offers opportunity, security and an improved quality of life.
“We must work boldly,” Browne said, as he urged continued efforts to strengthen the nation’s competitiveness and resilience.
Browne also emphasized the need to invest in people, particularly young people, while creating conditions that encourage long-term economic and social advancement.
According to the Prime Minister, the government’s objective is not only to expand the economy, but to ensure that development produces tangible benefits across the country.
The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party secured 15 of the 17 parliamentary seats in last week’s election.

With electricity on and off all the time. No water, slow internet, bad roads, rising home invasions and robberies and the PM thinks that Antigua can be a lifestyle superpower. One visit from an influencer and Antiguans getting ahead of themselves. And compared to islands like Puerto Rico Antigua didn’t do all that great. It never ceases to amaze the level of delusion Garrats have
😂..hey GB, the will of God is not that every sinner become rich, but all should come to repentance. After all the world was given to all of us, it’s not for you to share .God has already shared gave it.
Stop Brain-washing the people with your prosperity Gospel.. I’ve heard it before in the anals of the mega churches across the world, but it’s not the answer to our issues in Antigua that are driving up teen violence and the rape and murder rate.
What you doing about those real life changing issues that’s plaguing Antigua?
Because no matter how you preach riches for everyone, if the youths life-span can’t pass 30.yrs these days, then what’s your point?
Gang violence and criminality are taking out our young people..talk about what we are going to do as elders to make them live a full life.
I have some great ideas, would you humble yourself and listen to others?
I’ll be here.
As the saying goes, “Without a vision the people perish”. But the question is. Can the people buy in to the vision. As we saw many laughed at the vision of becoming an economic powerhouse. But having had economic growth year after year and being the fastest growing economy in the region, safe for Guyana, is that not an economic powerhouse. Now the vision is one of becoming a Lifestyle Super Power. Well we don’t even have oil in the ground. Just Sun Sea and Sand. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luuW_czEG3o&list=RDluuW_czEG3o&start_radio=1

Antigua might and could become a “Lifestyle Superpower” when pensioners who worked in the Private Sector and contributed more than some who worked for the government start receiving more than a measly $1100 a month which is gobbled up by APUA for water light and telephone and hardly anything left for the wicked prices in Epicurean and the other bloodsucking Supermarkets
