As a result, one of the trio has been arrested and charged and is due to make his first court appearance before a magistrate this week.
Reports say the Police have arrested and charged Kranus Alphonse, 25, of St. Johnstons Village for robbing Alaa Abboud of his silver Honda Stepwagn valued at $10,000.
Alphonse is also accused of robbing the victim of $800 in cash and a black Samsung Galaxy mobile phone valued at $600.
These offences reportedly occurred on Old Parham Road.
Alphonse is also charged with battery for beating Abboud.
During the robbery, he allegedly struck the businessman in the back of the head and to the left side of his face with what is believed to be a firearm.
Further reports say the Police have also charged the St. Johnstons Village man with malicious damage.
It is alleged that he unlawfully and maliciously committed damage to the victim’s Honda Stepwagn between November 23, the night of the robbery, and November 29, when the vehicle was retrieved at Cooks Hill.
According to reports, Abboud had secured his business place and was walking towards his vehicle, at the front of his restaurant, when three gunmen pounced on him and forced him into the back seat of his vehicle.
After they assaulted him, they drove the vehicle to Shell Beach, where they left the businessman after taking his phone and money.
Reportedly, the bandits had pressed Abboud to take them to his house; but he refused, stating that he had a young child at home, and allegedly they threatened to kill him.
After being deserted at the beach, Abboud was headed to the old US Navy Base for assistance.
However, he was picked up by an officer from the Coolidge Police Station, who was on mobile patrol in the area, and taken to the Criminal Investigations Department.

Jail dem. Wicked and evil young men
I was thinking of the surname of the business man. The police made an arrest in short order. What happens to all the other individuals with different surnames who have been robbed? How many arrests have been made in these cases? It seems the police care only about certain people.
So police say they got a break through into the robbery and it’s three people so what happen too the other 2 they are left there too carry on the ROBBERY
You sick,little rascals
You are sick little rascals
I find your comment distasteful. Maybe if you call 911 and take valid information and give valid information and stop trying to play NCIS maybe the breakthrough could happen.
The Police need to apply some real force on the scoundrel to name his accomplices and if he wants to go down alone, let him regret that he ever made that decision
Business Owners,Large,Medium,Small,in Antigua and Barbuda. Please apply for a firearm license to protect self, family and property. There is not one damn thing wrong in the ownerships of legal guns.It is your rights to protect your lives and assets by any means necessary.
