US Court of Appeals Backs Browne in Alfa Nero Disclosure Case

The United States Court of Appeals has ruled in favour of Gaston Browne and other Antiguan and Barbudan defendants in a financial disclosure case linked to the sale of the Alfa Nero superyacht.
The appellate court upheld a lower court decision rejecting an application by Yulia Guryeva-Motlokhov, who had claimed ownership of the vessel and challenged the government’s 2024 sale.

Judges affirmed the district court’s order denying her request for discovery and quashing subpoenas issued to US financial institutions, including the Clearing House and the Federal Reserve. The ruling also requires that all documents obtained by Guryeva-Motlokhov’s attorneys under those subpoenas be destroyed, with certification provided.
Attorneys representing Browne are considering seeking recovery of legal costs incurred during the appeal.
While Guryeva-Motlokhov could petition the Supreme Court of the United States, legal observers note there is no automatic right of appeal, making further action unlikely.
The decision is being viewed as another legal win for Browne, who has maintained that the government acted lawfully and transparently in the sale of the vessel.
Separately, Browne has filed a US$10 million defamation lawsuit against Martin De Luca and his firm, Boies Schiller Flexner LLP, over statements made during the proceedings. The firm has been served, while efforts continue to locate De Luca to complete service of the claim.

WONDERFUL NEWS!
Not good for the UPP at all. What will they campaign on now?
They worked overtime to beat and ring out the Alfa Nero matter trying to paint it as tho something corrupt took place.
What desperate 11th hour move will the UPP concoct this time? Another “4 billion in the belly of the plane” cock n bull story?
Jackie Queen and Franz muss be feeling quite assinine
Please add source because from MY OWN research I haven’t found anything of such recently.
Not a problem really, because there’s a PLETHORA of other issues in the pipeline. Certain people can only play Wack-A-Mole for so long until another pops up…
I’ve checked as well @Julia, and cannot find a thing. Strange how this news is timed coincidentally with an imminent General Election. Hmmmm 🤔
However, I stand to be corrected if an ABLP supporter can help ah brotha out …👍🏾
Gaston dick so far down some of yall throats in the comments section I surprised yall can still breathe.
I don’t think this is the end they gonna keep coming back….
@ Brixtonian. I didn’t know that the United States Court of Appeals is collaborating 🤣 with the Browne government to specifically time this news before a general election. Those Americans! Chuptz! 🤣😂🤣😂
I have found the information that is being stated through Gemini (AI) for those who are saying they can’t find any information on it. This was done earlier today.
The below statement is copied and pasted directly from Gemini (AI):
1. The U.S. Court Victory (Today)
The U.S. Appeals Court overturned a previous ruling that would have allowed Guryeva’s team to subpoena records from the U.S. Federal Reserve and The Clearing House. Not only did they block the access, but the court ordered that any documents her lawyers already managed to get their hands on must be destroyed.
2. Gaston’s $10 Million Countersuit
Gaston isn’t just playing defense. He’s officially countersuing the U.S. lawyers involved (Martin De Luca and the firm Boies Schiller) for $10 million in damages, claiming their allegations about the sale were defamatory. He even mentioned today that one of the lawyers has “gone into hiding” to avoid being served.
3. The “Missing Millions” Drama
The heat mostly stems from the fact that the Alfa Nero was sold for $40 million to a Turkish buyer in July 2024, which was a huge drop from the $67.6 million bid Eric Schmidt (ex-Google CEO) originally put up before he backed out. Critics and the original owners have been pushing the narrative that the math doesn’t add up, but Gaston has dismissed the whole thing as a “dead issue.”
4. Recent Fallout (February 2026)
Just last month, Gaston fired Ambassador Johann Hesse after court filings revealed a $450,000 commission was paid to Hesse’s business partner in the UK during the sale. While the PM said there wasn’t evidence of illegal activity by the Ambassador himself, the lack of transparency didn’t sit well, especially with the public already side-eyeing the deal.
@ Brixy’s Tin Foil Hat Brigade
Wooiiiiii I didn’t know either hahaha
Poor Little Antigua. I am always amazed how we can make EVERYTHING political.
So at what cost to the tax payers has this decision come?
Will the prime minister continue to be as secretive as he has been asking the court to do and keep the bill away from us the tax payers?
The prime minister is rejoicing at the ruling.
I find it pretty interesting that someone says he has no secret and no corrupt deed to keep covered yet he is fighting like his life depends on it to keep his secrets hidden.
Why?
Doth thou not complain too much!!!!!
Murder accused are the only ones I know who fight so hard to prevent information they believe can be detrimental from being revealed.
The longest rope has an end!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, many thanks @Stating Facts …👍🏾
@ Stating facts,
You obviously do not understand how and where the US Courts report on cases.
The reporting on a case does not include what other law suits may be pending related to that case.
Here is where one goes to get the information. The article seems like a made up story.
US Court of Appeals rulings for Florida fall under the Eleventh Circuit, which covers Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. You can access these opinions through official free websites or paid legal databases.
Official Sources
The Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals publishes all opinions on its website at ca11.uscourts.gov. Navigate to the “Opinions” section, where decisions are listed by date, case number, or searchable keywords; most are available as PDFs shortly after release.[brennancenter]
Florida’s state-level District Courts of Appeal (six districts) post rulings on flcourts.gov or district-specific sites like 1dca.org for the First District.
Free Databases
Google Scholar (scholar.google.com) offers a free case law search—select “Florida courts” or “U.S. Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit” to filter rulings. Justia.com and CourtListener.com also provide searchable archives of federal and state appellate decisions.[library.famu]
Paid Options
PACER (pacer.uscourts.gov) gives docket info and documents for federal appeals, with per-page fees (often waived for low usage). Westlaw or LexisNexis are comprehensive but subscription-based.[flsd.uscourts]
For a specific ruling, search by case name, docket number, or parties involved on these platforms.
Suing for “statements made during the proceedings”? If during the proceedings they are all protected speech, giving immunity to the speaker. Whether closely related or material or relevant or not. All attorneys and law school graduates know this. Unless this reporting on the cause for the defamation suit is inaccurate.
@Brixy tin foil….Now y’all have to llow Brixy. After that Sharklanking Alex Browne got added with Wayne Marsh turning into a big blue chicken and nah want leggo he Trump passport all while in full view of his precious UPP selfdestruction poor fella have to cling to his delusions that all is well. Poor fella don’t worry within the next 21 days all your suffering will be over when the UPP will suffer yet another sharklarking and then off into the sunset for another 24 years 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😱😱😱😱😭😱😭😭😭
@ Stating facts.
Someone has fooled you, or you are nothing but a fabricator of lies.
The record of US Appeals cases are found on legal documents subscriptions sites.
It’s unfortunate that you are so dishonest in your attempt to influence the thinking of the public as the campaign season heats up.
@ Brixtonian.
These are Gaston’s agents at work. The so called @ Stating facts person is a lying mischievous person or a fool.
That is not how cases are reported in US Courts.
Also thanks @Just Saying, maybe I was right in the first instance 👍🏾
The Article is a scam and so is the commentator @ Stating facts.
@Brixy’s, it seems similar to when the U.S Government was colluding with the UPP to bring down R. Allen Stanford. Doesn’t seem so to you?
I would be nice for the PM if this so. I do not think these people are going to take this loss lying down. They might resort to violence and this I don’t think is beyond them
awaiting to see how WICKED LYING Observer will twist this to suit their nasty political agenda
Gemma Handy run gone leff that place. The snake is now BOTH OWNER AND EDITOR of the newspaper.
The little shred of journalistic integrity under Gemma is now gone.
Azara rejected UPP outright
What most interested is thst ANR has not researched or verified the veracity of their original article; which is a fabrication.
Are they trafficking in misinformation, propaganda and lies?
Lol, I’m simply there with the popcorn 🍿
Carry on, you crabs in a barrel.
It’s only regarding the discoveries.
The bigger issue is who is paying for all of these Court proceedings? By the time this Russian billionaire gets through with all of these court cases, the sale proceeds from the yacht would’ve been used up.
@Dave Ray your popcorn must be stale and soggy because this is news from 2025 been recycled for props and propaganda to boost Gaston’s credibility. There is no such ruling in 2026 regarding the Alfa Nero cases in the US Federal Courts.
I guess there is silence now that the truth is now in the light.
