  8. To those so call bad men who may have done or is doing the Samething and may have gotten away with it. This is your opportunity to turn your life around. Don’t become a statistic.

To the police and soldiers; it took you all too long. But better late than never.
    Good job.

  9. Very good police keep it up and don’t stop …2
We need to take back our country .. these robbers don’t care when they point gun on people head and traumatize and threaten them so if you want to not work and rob people and be gun man and get away driver then be prepared for the consequences of that lifestyle

A lot of these criminals are caught on camera and I know their family and friends recognized them but don’t say anything .. Well now you guys can bury them ..
GO FIND WORK TO DO!!! Things are hard for everybody including the little poor supermarket and people yall robbing…. EVERYONE HAVE IT HARD …. GO FIND WORK TO DO OR TAKE TAKE THE BULLET !!!!!

NO MERCY HERE !! NOT FOR YALL OR YALL FAMILIES … SORRY

  10. Keep shooting! Be a warning to the rest! You can’t go about terrorising people who just want to live a safe and simple life

  11. @ real no economy nutten!!! The set they caught up on up factory road, one a dem have a good government job!!
    Na fool yourself!!
A too glad de message sen out!!!!

  12. Kudos to the police for their quick action in neutralizing this robbery situation I hope that this would serve as a warning to others. We really have to begin to look at the bigger picture and determine why there has been a sudden spike in robberies and other criminal activities locally. We have to examine the root cause in an effort to put corrective measures in place.

  13. Big up police! We dont need people who want to kill and rob innocent hard working people. Send a message to all bad man who feel they is above all. Dem judgement will come. You can’t kill others and not be killed in the end. What goes around come around. Justice is peace!

  14. As long as they are the correct criminals and posed imminent and serious danger at the time of confrontation to apprehend them, I would like to 100% commend the citizens for their swift contact to the police and for the police action.

Again, information gathering and analysis, is vital. The police is getting my recognition for this one. There are many more. Good work here, it seems.

  15. @Tough on crime. Your PM, Gaston, can’t talk so because he already set bad example for the youths to follow. The phrase, ” if the top slack, the middle and bottom will be worse”, is what is at play here. The youths see how self enrichment has made politicians and their children rich and they want that by hook or by crook.
Further, to prevent their backsides from being voted out thus breaking the cycle, they bribe the youths with money and weed. They even catch a young politician who had an otherwise bright future.
Look out for much more of this .

  16. Long overdue, and anyone with half a brain (however not the criminal fraternity) knew it was just a matter of time before a gun toting Crook was going to get his comeuppance and lose dem life.

    Congratulations to the police

LIVE BY THE GUN DIE BY GUN …

One less lowlife off our streets – Next one please!

  17. A case of the chickens coming home to roost…

This should send a strong message to any other like-minded stickup scumbags; there are consequences for your actions, sometimes deadly consequences.

  18. @Tough on crime August 15, 2024 At 3:04 pm
The PM need not to make any speech. Because the UPP will take his words and twist them around. As National Security Head he will tell the police and the army what to do. And they will know what to do. Or else he will have to replace the top of these organizations. Simple as that. Remember he is not in control of the police, but certainly of the military. And if the police cannot maintain Law and Order, the PM has the authority to bring in the Army.

  19. Thank God for keeping our officers safe . N kill all those thieves . Go look JOB n work. Can’t find any go to the PM. STOP BLAMING THE ECONOMY. THAT A LIE.GO FIND WORK OR ELSE ALL A U A GO DEAD!!!!!

  20. @Real,
you started off the batting with an out for naught. Name a jurisdiction that doesn’t experience crime. Just one.
    @Zackie,
Your claim of “no politics at this time” was shortlived. You quickly pivoted to a 180°
    @Audley Phillip,
Do you wish to do another talking point? A study? A town hall? What will it solve?
    @Brixtonian,
    I’m proud of you.
The police are doing their work.
    That’s all.

  21. Good job officers and try to kill allllllll a them next time , acting like if people working for them , we have to take back Antigua from the hands of these criminal elements .

  22. All Shoud ah dead
Over and bearing to to much
The commissioner needs to send the police in the streets to patrol 24 hours shift system well armed I must add to take out some more thugs

  23. So what you want to say a cutie Benjamin over the police? How foolish a thought, it’s like playing football where you pas the ball around, the prime minister in charge of everything, his subordinates are given instructions on a hourly basis.

  24. Well said @ Tough on crime. Of course countries need reassurances from their Heads of State, and Gaston Browne is no exception.

Gun crimes, burglaries, rapes and home invasions have increased tenfold over the last 2-3 here in Antigua.

All genuine civilians have been asking for (and not only the useless Browne) is a plan of action, reassurances and a more visible presence on our small island.

So please ignore the NAYSAYERS like @ Less We Forget, or whatever foolish moniker he dealing with.

Ignore he, he’ll worship Gaston Browne come what may … its in his DNA 😁

  25. If you see something, day something…so that the police can shoot something…

If you are a low life, you get no life…

And if my community catch any criminals in the act before the police get you, all your hands coming off one time…chop chop so you never touch a gun again, never drive getaway car again, never grab people money again. Permanent fix.

  26. blame it on which Economy??
so because time hard that mean you should turn thief???
lot a ppl have life hard an they working to make hence meet stealing is no excuse

  27. Just imagine the one that dead him and his friend killed 3 people within one month and all now police no detain he the last two at shanty town everyone see is them now he dead let’s see what Mr Bailey going to do if he is not one of the robbers

  28. @Dave Ray. It needed to be said Dave. I am not attacking the police but “Tough on Crime” raised a good point. The PM if he were serious would have come out and address the public and more importantly the criminals as Jamaica PM had done. But he can’t speak like that because his policies and behaviour, directly or indirectly, are very much a big part of the reason why crime has escalated so much and the seemingly inability to curb it.
What programs do we have to encourage youths not to seek enrichment above all else? Could your PM address them on that?? They don’t even go to church anymore to be told that the wages of sin is death.
For years we recognize that many of our young men are dropping out of school with no skills and hardly any education. Even your PM accepted that. What have been done to stem the tide? What happened to the Boys Training School?? So you see Dave, this is not just a criticism for the sake of politics but a “cri de coeur” for my country.

  29. Go after the gun suppliers as well. They are the real criminals. These scumbags on the street are just working for the gun dealers.
A few killings by the police wont stop the gun violence nor other crimes from happening.
These are the low hanging fruits.

  30. DEM F****ERS!!!!!! NUN SARRY DEY FU DEN RH. THE POLICE NEED TO GO HOSPITAL AND FINISH THE JOB!!!! DEM F***KING SICKENING🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😭😭☠️

  31. @Zackie
I will forgive you because I can tell that you are unaware of the crime dynamics in Jamaica. PM Andrew Holness can speak all he wants but the Jamaica institutionally has Dons that run certain communities who are funded by politicians.

If you only knew. Do your research. The murder rate in Jamaica is 100 times higher than Antigua will ever see.
Why do you think that so many Jamaicans are relocating to Antigua and many other Caribbean islands? Other than poverty or hard life, crime is rampant there as well.

There are programs in Antigua that the young men are not taking advantage of, because some of their parents are either complicit in their crime spree or are afraid of them.

The police shouldn’t need a directive from the Prime Minister. They’re trained in law and order.
We like to lay blame and bring other subject matters into the discussion because of our dislike for the administration.

That doesn’t move the needle in the right direction.
The local people who are trafficking weapons into our country, not to mention the wealthy ones who are doing the same, are whom we should be laying the blame, not the PM.

So, if he comes out to speak like the PM of Jamaica, he will then be acused of influencing the law enforcement.
He can’t win any way you put it.

You don’t like him? Fine. That has nothing to do with the police apprehension exercise earlier today. Just let’s celebrate our law enforcement and keep it at.

Last week we were chastising them for manhandling a misbehaving, drunken female during last lap.
I tell you, we’re a unique group of people in Antigua and Barbuda. 🇦🇬

  32. Excellent work cops, I hope they give you all a big bonus at end of month. At least one of the robbers will do something useful by becoming fertilizer for mother earth.

  33. https://newsday.co.tt/2024/08/14/six-shot-dead-by-police-in-freeport/
“SIX people – five men and one woman – are dead after a shootout with police in Freeport just before midday on August 14.”

In Antigua the police shoots three only one dead. And that becomes a big thing. In Trinidad the police shoots SIX and ALL DEAD and that is a normal thing.

Antigua police should learn from Trinidad police. No sense to keep them alive and fill our jail and to allow the judges to give them short sentences. Then before you know it they are back on the street committing the very same crimes.

  34. Brixtonian August 15, 2024 At 5:30 pm
“Gun crimes, burglaries, rapes and home invasions have increased tenfold over the last 2-3 here in Antigua.”
Brix this is what I will always have against you. If you make statements such as these, please back them up with facts. Present us with your statistic that support your statement. If you do not have those numbers, please hush and stop misleading the public that is too lazy to verify your statement. just know that I am one that does verify your statements every time. And i will rebut them and call you out.

  35. Less We Forget or From The Sideline, all you have to do is go back and look at my facts and figures.

You track me all the time and I’m very surprised that you haven’t located and “verified” what I’ve highlighted in the past.

Or are you being mischievous as usual?

    YOU’RE SLIPPING MY BROTHER … 😁

    Good try though Sidey!

  36. … You’ve also incriminated yourself Sidey, because you don’t ALWAYS track the great Brixtonian.

Well does this mean that when I write and there’s no commentary from you, that you are in TOTAL agreement with my discourses?

Seems so … think before you write fool 😉

YOU NAH READY FOR ME, AS ALWAYS … 😁

  37. Hey mon! All in all’s me glad no innocent bystanders get hurt by stray bullets or ricochet bullets during de shootout
