  1. Herd immunity will be achieved soon with all these unvaccinated persons thats catching the vorus and recover. Nature is such a brilliant cycle.

    • You still smoking that herd immunity crack pipe? Just like with the influenza virus, herd immunity is impossible with coronaviruses. The prerequisites for herd immunity include stable genome in the pathogen and lasting immunity in the previously infected. Neither of these occur with Covid infection. You catch Covid or vaccinate against it and within nine months your antibody titre drops to levels that allow for reinfection. Herd immunity requires that antibody titres remain high for decades, not months. The coronavirus mutates in months, rendering more and more of your protective antibodies useless over a very short time. Furthermore, it’s become clear that widespread community infection actually leads to a substantial number of debilitating long COVID cases.

    • What’s the lies? That the cases would rise? That people will get sick? That people will die? That you need to protect yourself? That you need to wash your hands? That you need to wear a face covering?

      Which one exactly?

  2. 524 Cases too many !!
I have seen where persons are saying to close the Country down. In my opinion, closing the Country down would not stop that Virus. The Virus is already there. Putting things in place and making sure they are adhered to would be a great place to begin. For instance, all persons coming into Antigua and Barbuda must show proof of being fully Vaccinated and a negative PCR Test. If they do not have those items. Put them back on that same plane and send them back from whence they came. Then and only then I do believed the Virus could be controlled. Continued masks wearing, hands washing, physical distancing, wiping down of areas used would also help.Good luck Antigua and Barbuda.

    • Don’t put them back on a plane….They shouldn’t be able to board in the first place.

Let me guess….they too will yell discrimination or infringement of rights to travel to a Sovereign country who require a vaccine to enter.

  3. Oh Almighty God have mercy on us.I am vaccinated my household is vaccinated. Can we all pls do the right thing in this country. and get vaccinated.Pls, pls this is too much.I do not even want to go yo town.

  4. But but, where are all these cases coming from, not the bars gyms and restaurants, they are shutter, only vaxed people could go there.

  5. Why are you all surprised? The main spreaders of the virus haven’t changed…. it’s the asymptomatic infected people. That’s the reason this virus infection became a pandemic..we can’t see half of the infection in the community because we only test the symptomatic. There are now two categories of these asymptomatic infected people….the unvaccinated infected (which now includes kids) and the vaccinated infected. The vaccinated are far more likely to be asymptomatic when they catch Delta Covid. But only the unvaccinated are tested, so the infection rate will keep climbing. This is why we are seeing case numbers increasing rapidly after vaccination started and the vaccinated stopped following safety protocols….the vaccinated are still being infected but are flying below the testing radar. But the Antigua government obviously knows that vaccinated people are spreaders. Why else do you think they closed the gyms and bars, congregation spots only for the vaccinated?

Well the vaccine does work to reduce symptoms when infected… to the point where most infected vaccinated people don’t have any. Problem is that the most recent research into exactly how one of the vaccines is doing it has found some evidence that the vaccines are actually persistently suppressing parts of the immune system (such as the interferon system) which, while limiting Cytokine storm, makes your immune system less able to fight off some other types of infection that your body would normally handle without issues. So don’t be surprised if you see surges in other types of common infection in the next few years. If this immune suppression effect is widespread, flu season could get rather nasty for the vaccinated. We’ll have to wait and see.
