Brawl lands farmers in court

1

A brawl between two farmers led to both of them facing several charges.

Retired police officer Vanroy Greenidge and Craig Joseph own farms about a quarter of a mile from each other.

Investigators alleged the defendants committed a number of offences against each other during an altercation.

Their charges include disorderly conduct by fighting, battery, threatening language and being armed with an offensive weapon.

The men received bail in the amount of $2000 with no cash component when they appeared before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel-Edwards in the All Saints Magistrates Court this week.

They had to surrender their travel documents and report to the Liberta Police Station three days weekly.

The magistrate ordered them not to communicate, and each must stay 50 feet away from the other.

The defendants will return to court in April.
