Boxing Day Jouvert stabbing victims discharged

DeSonte Barton, a 23-year-old resident of Grays Farm, released from the hospital after suffering multiple stab wounds during the Boxing Day Jouvert in Point.

Urgently transported to Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, Barton endured injuries to his nostril, jaw, shoulder, and hand in an ambush near Xcape Bar on Lower North Street.

Seven assailants, believed to be minors in hoods and masks, utilized various sharp weapons, including a cutlass.

Simultaneously, 18-year-old Jaheim Mannix from Point, intervening in the altercation, sustained four stab wounds to his back.

Mannix, like Barton, received prompt treatment and was discharged within hours of the incident.

  1. Bring back Skerrit ( Boys training ). These youngsters need to be taught a serious lesson. Let Skerrit be that penal place to rehabilitate these youngster at such tender age…

    Allow these perpetrators also do community projects such as Cutting grass, painting public institutions, pruning trees etc etc

  2. The only way to reduce crimes when a weapon is used is to remove fingers and hands from their body according to the crime.
