The government says both visitors and returning nationals will be subject to rapid testing on arrival into Antigua & Barbuda.
This is a change in position than what was announced over the weekend by Prime Minister Gaston Browne who indicated that tourists will be tested using covid-19 rapid tests while returning nationals will be quarantined.
Information Minister Melford Nicholas said today that both returnees and tourists will now be tested following a decision of Cabinet today.
He said those who tested negative may undergo an additional test just in case there is a false negative.
Those who test positive will be isolated at a government facility.
Nicholas also confirmed that returning nationals may no longer have to be quarantined for 14 days if they are negative. He said placing all returning nationals under quarantine may not be practical given the number of returnees expected.
