The billboard was asking why Stuart-Young will not pay the millions of US dollars that Jack Stroll alleges he owes him.
Mere hours after it appeared, the Development Control Authority (DCA) – which falls within the ministry of Browne’s wife, Maria
Browne – executed a zero-notice removal order, stripping the message away.
It was replaced by an official notice from the agency, signed by Town and Country Planner Frederick Southwell, which claims the billboard was erected without permission from the DCA and “contains defamatory information.”
Ironically, in a legal matter that continued today in the High Court, Stuart-Young was ordered to answer questions and provide documentation to Stroll’s lawyers since a judgment against both GBC and Stuart-Young had not been honoured by either.
Accordingly, observers are asking where the defamation lies when it
is common knowledge – and a fact – that Stroll is, indeed, owed
millions in United States currency.
Further, they point out that there was no violation of the DCA’svauthority by the “erection” of a billboard, since the structure was erected at least two years ago, is still standing, and continues to bear its original image.
Rather, the observers say, this is a blatant abuse of power by the political authorities, using the DCA, and an infringement on freedom of expression.
Photos of the message, meanwhile, have gone viral.

It does begs the question though:
If someone is owed a lot of money, and it seems like they’ve tried every avenue for repayment – what’s the problem with a billboard banner highlighting this fact?
I recall that Steve Morgan, the man behind the $1 million dollars Barbuda hurricane Irma fund, was sending emails to Prime Minister Gaston Browne and as far as I know, still hasn’t had a response about the missing money to-date.
However, once again, I could be wrong 😉

Why the DCA goes after certain people in Antigua? Why was that Restaurant allow to be built on Long Bay in that area? Is it because it is owned by he of a different skinned color.Gaston Browne did say that it was going to be completed.What happened Gaston? I am awaiting your feedback.

Just seen the billboard banner @ BankerBoi, and as I mentioned in my earlier post, I cannot see anything wrong with a depositor using ANY avenue to try and get his returned to him.

Why the DCA don’t go abd remove all them houses in All Saints that the Jamaican squatting on and locals can’t get piece…… but wasn’t the said billboard there already…
Rich people don’t wanna look like criminals…You are supposed to think we are decent honest people with our education, businesses, fancy attire, beautiful homes and friends in high places….Blast the man from the ghetto who is a no body when he commits a crime, or is deceitful. Post his picture is age, where is is from what area he resides etc. Lock him up and throw away the key. Mr Stuart-Young is a decent man and CEO of a Bank for God sake he does not want to be seen in a the same light as the man from the ghetto….
The sad part is we give the benefit of the doubt to people like bankers when, in fact they cause more harm on a bigger scale than anyone could on the street.
Just because we put something rotten in a nice suit, and let it sit in a fancy box, doesn’t mean not still rotten to the core.
At the end of the day, it seems Gaston and Brian Stewart-Young are people who used their positions to greatly increase their personal wealth at the expense of clients/tax payers/voters.
The world is broken and unfair so it sadly took another crazy rich person to get into a prolonged legal battle and expose these dudes. Hopefully more info will come out/
Wait a minute. Has anyone seen DCA destroying any structure, banner, etc that did not have a ALP association?
Mr Southwell, when will you start working for the people who pay your salary? Us?Don’t you have any cojones? Good Lord man, have you no shame? How do you watch your family and friends in the eye day to day?
Don’t you want your name to be associated with some sort of decency as a public servant?
I am telling you that in your old age you will pay for this. You know, like sleepless nights, guilty conscience trips? You will be shunned by decent, and even indecent people whose only crime was smoking a little weed and petty theft.

Posters should be plastered all over Antigua and Barbuda.

Take a drive on Buckleys main road on approaching the steep hill on the left side of the road a new concrete fence going up the location looks very out of bound
If it was really a violation DCA would have removed the entire structure but it’s been there since the las election. What occurred there was nothing short of political censorship. UPP pushing the right buttons
