Bermuda’s 2023 road fatality toll climbs to 11

Loop News – The Bermuda Police Service reports the road fatality toll has increased after two motorcyclists were confirmed as the island’s tenth and eleventh road fatality for 2023.  

The police service says Marvin Dyer, 48, was confirmed as Bermuda’s tenth road fatality of 2023.

Dyer was seriously injured in a reported single-vehicle collision that occurred on June 20, when the motorcycle he was riding apparently struck a curb, at the junction of Southside Road and Stocks Road in St George’s.

Despite all lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead later that evening at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

And, Raheem Burgess, 30, was confirmed as Bermuda’s eleventh road fatality of 2023.

Burgess was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car on Middle Road in Warwick, near Belmont Hills Drive, on July 28.

Despite all lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead later that evening at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
