Vernon G. Edwards, the esteemed manager of DHL Antigua, passed away yesterday morning in Jamaica while receiving medical care.

At 75, Vernon was a beloved long-time resident of Belmont, widely recognized for his commitment to his work and his contributions to the community.

His passing leaves a profound void in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

  1. If you knew Vernon Edwards, you cannot miss his tremendous work ethics and his diligence day in day out. He was always on the job as early as you can imagine, smartly dressed in his shorts, lovely shirts and shoes and politely greeting everyone as he passes.
    He was an extremely reliable man of the highest integrity. Always wanting to do the right thing even when no one was watching. He helped and collaborated with everyone and he always made you feel that you are doing a great job. He treated customers, coworkers and staff with a respectful and professional demeanor. That was Vernon Edwards. A giant in the business landscape of Antigua and Barbuda. Rest well Brother. Walk good!

    Verily, I beseech Thee to forgive the sins of such as have abandoned the physical garment and have ascended to the spiritual world.

    O my Lord! Purify them from trespasses, dispel their sorrows, and change their darkness into light. Cause them to enter the garden of happiness, cleanse them with the most pure water, and grant them to behold Thy splendors on the loftiest mount.

  6. I cannot believed that he is gone.He was always a very nice person,very approachable.He was always friendly and smiling living on Fort Road in the 1960’s.The last year I lived in Antigua.I went to an Old Year’s Night Party at his home in Belmont.It was an enjoyable time.RIP,GOOD MAN.

  7. I watched him over the past 10 years come to the bank to conduct business. His demeanor had always been the same. He is an exemplary human being, role model and always dressed with grace,. Will be truly missed by all the bank tellers and customer service reps.. Condolences to the family.

  8. Our dearest friend has gone, a legend in hus own rights.
    He was a strong man, always on the move, especially with his work, very much dedicated to his work.
    I got to know him almost 2 years now.I would just sit there and see him do his paper work with carefulness and diligence.
    A very good man, and devoted to his family as well as far as I come to know him.
