Kendra Beazer says his political push will centre on ensuring Barbudans benefit directly from development, as he prepares to contest the Barbuda seat for the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP).
Beazer, a former Barbuda Council member, said his decision to align with the ABLP was based on the party’s ability to address the needs of residents and deliver meaningful change.
“It was more based on the people that I vow to represent and the capacity that the party has to really provide me with what I would need or what the people would need to address their concerns on Barbuda,” Beazer told ABS.
He added that his campaign will prioritise both physical and social development across the island.
“Much of what I will be pushing is along that line. Infrastructure development, where the island is concerned, around the different key areas, health, education, waste management, and so forth, and then people-based development around education and meeting some of their social needs,” he said.
Beazer said his broader goal is to ensure that as Barbuda develops, residents are equipped to benefit from new opportunities.
“While the place develops physically, the capacity of the people also develops itself,” he added.

May your good guide be your conscience and Love of Country. Don’t let Gaston wishes be your
Your fulfilling doing. Barbuda first and ALP.
@ Wadadlian,
As an individual that’s UK born. While he can be elected to the Barbuda Council he is not eligible to become an Antigua and Barbuda Member of Parliament unless he gives up his UK citizenship.
Further, read between the tea leaves, and look at the candidate’s past history as a Member of The Barbuda Council.
He should run in his record and be specific with”
Ensuring Barbudans benefit from development”.
That’s meaningless and insulting statement from a candidate who is studying for a PHD in economics at Oxford University.
Waste Management is a significant issue on Barbuda. What is the candidate proposing for waste management?
I’ll wait to hear his proposals on health and education; as well as infrastructure development. We need to hear details of his concept on development and opportunities.
Crime is increasing on Barbuda. The police are sitting in the station house chatting like if it’s a barber shop while others are on their phones.
Mr. Beazer will not be allowed to join the gang thst plays us for fools like the current MP
This is the dilemma of the council and any potential ALP candidate in Barbuda, none a them is pushing a platform for entrepreneurship for barbudans, they are pushing barbudans benefiting from employment, so none of them envision small loans from the council are some kind of grant to allow barbudans to set up small boutique hotels on those beaches? They only visualize white foreigners as Gaston vision is as the savior! They all acting like colonial masters keep the people contained withing a particular space like a concentration camp, where the harm done is to keep you poor and away from the land resources, can you believe that there was land ownership in common and barbudans didn’t go on those beautiful beaches and build small rooms for rent? I blame all sides in Barbuda for keeping the people powerless and now Gaston is empowering white foreigners with the lands.
