Three people in Barbuda are in quarantine being monitored to see if they develop symptoms of the new coronavirus.

“First of all, Barbuda has no confirmed cases and I will have to emphasize again that quarantine would be for persons who are well, who we are monitoring, persons who because of their travel history or their contact with persons who may have been exposed to COVID, we would monitor those persons to see if they would develop symptoms”, said Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Rhonda Sealey-Thomas.

“So, these are well persons who are quarantined they are not sick persons who are isolated”, she said.

“Barbuda, we have been in close contact with them over the last few months about preparations and they have under an abundance of caution, placed persons who would have come from, for example, the United States, the United Kingdom and they would have place those persons in quarantine and at present there are three persons that have been reported to us in quarantine in Barbuda”, The CMO explained.
