The Barbuda Express is out of operation at this hour after experiencing “a technical problem” on its way to Antigua yesterday.
The company did not give the exact nature of the problem but said their engineers are already working on it.
All passengers made it safely back to Antigua where the ferry is currently docked.
“At this time, we do not have an answer as to what happened and how long it will take to fix the problem,” a company statement said.
The breakdown of the ferry, the main form of sea transport between the two islands, is likely to inconvenience hundreds of Barbudans who come to Antigua on weekends.
The Barbuda Express says people wanting more information about booking should call its office at 560-7989/764-2291.
People who travel regularly on the ferry says it is not unusual for it to experience problems from time to time.
