Barbuda Council Member Fitzroy Warner Voices Opposition to Land Registry Proposal

4

Another Barbuda Council member, Fitzroy Warner, rejects the proposed amendments to the Registered Land Act, claiming Prime Minister Gaston Browne is “bulldozing” Barbuda and disregarding the council’s concerns.

Warner is particularly upset with the granting of land leases without consulting the people of Barbuda, raising doubts about due diligence.

MP Trevor Walker also objects to the amendments and plans to work with the United Progressive Party to reverse the decision in the future.

The proposed changes aim to replace communal land ownership on the island, allowing legal ownership for landowners.

PM Browne accuses the council of hindering development by opposing various projects.

  1. Among the many maladjusted mental illnesses that Gaston suffers from is an inferiority complex which drives his pariah characteristics. He will sell off Barbuda best lands; take some for himself and his friends, while filling his pockets

His primary interest is to bring in rich white people; among whom he wants to mingle when they set up their enclaves.

On the other hand; The Barbuda Council is like a one trick pony who plays the same song over and over about communal lands.

Maybe the Barbuda Council would get some allies to their cause, if they change their tune and start working as a governing body, reduce the bloated payroll filled with no show jobs, provide services efficiently, get things done like cleaning up the island which would show they are truly interested in environmental issues.

Is Trevor proposing that UPP will reverse what Gaston is in the midst of effectuating? So UPP is going take legislative action to cancel land titles in Barbuda issued by Gaston’s Government.
    Get real Trevor!!

Why aren’t Barbudans in the Dyaspora coming to the Barbuda Councils aid with the money and help needed to fight Gaston?

In the mean time; Gaston knows all these Barbuda Council members statements are simple performative: a meaningless shell game.

  2. Yes, Fitzroy, you said you wanted your voice to be heard in this matter and we hear you. Every time you and the others talk we hear you.

Now listen. It is time to stop the chatting and time to start acting. No land issue was ever solved except by physical intervention. You are letting some milk toast people who come fran all about without a cappa in dey pocket to dictate to you about your land. They are very comfortable giving you all lip. Apart from Trevor cracking two bad wud on them, what have you all done?

Have you blocked off anywhere? Have you made life uncomfortable for any one of them? The answer is no.

It is time to stop the talking and time to start acting out. Enough talking. Tap chat. Start act.

  3. The landlord is in charge of his own lands
He doesn’t need the tenant’s approval to do what he wants with his lands
