Baltimore Wins St. Philip North By-Election in Landslide

Randy Baltimore of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) has won the St. Philip North by-election by a wide margin, according to the final results released after all seven ballot boxes were counted.

The final box, from Polling Division C — Newfield Primary School (A–Z), added 149 votes for Baltimore and 42 for United Progressive Party (UPP) candidate Alex Browne, with one ballot rejected.

With the final tally completed, Baltimore secured 924 votes, while Browne received 407 votes, confirming a decisive victory for the ABLP candidate.

The by-election was called following the retirement of longtime St. Philip North Member of Parliament Sir Robin Yearwood, ending a parliamentary career that spanned roughly five decades.

Baltimore will now take his seat in Parliament as the new representative for St. Philip North, maintaining the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party’s hold on the constituency.

  2. If this is not the wakeup call for upp leadership to hand over the reigns to Harold Lovell, I don’t know what the hell it would take! Upp is NOT aggressive enough!

  3. The essential thing is that after nearly half a century, willikies and the eastern area called st Phillips north have a black picky head person representing it, whereas 1981 independence did not free willikies and it’s adjoining villages from colonial white planters rule like the other parts of Antigua since Robin’s father was a planter from the UK who had our people labor on his farm with no time for an education until now 2026 that yearwood family reign has been broken, and this single family in willikies who is the largest that was advantage for years by the former representative has now end that reign, Alex and Randy who are one family without animosity, has created history. it’s like bringing independence to our village the way V.C Bird and his men fought the white plantocrats, let there be peace and love as my father would say.

  4. Hope BRIXTONIAN will show His DAMN face. Loser BRIXTONIAN.
Hon.Gaston Browne call the general election now (17 none).

  5. I don’t think it matters who is leading the UPP , the results would have been the same. Probably in a general election they would have done better. The ABLP candidate had so much advantages that it was impossible for any UPP candidate to win this seat.
What kind of representative is Baltimore going to become. I see his as a Chandller former UPP MP. Has nothing special to offer. No talent or calling. Never has been a commodity activist. More of a selfish, opportunistic guy that played his cards as a custom officer. As the chairman of Dimond Estate a disaster. Fitted for the backbencher and deputy speaker.

  6. A wake up call indeed for the UPP. The party needs a forceful, aggressive and principled Leader so that the UPP can mount a viable challenge to this corrupt and incompetent ABLP administration that is taking our country backwards while they continue to enrich themselves. Yes, Mr. Baltimore..we know what you are celebrating tonight..its your turn for you and your family to get rich..through nepotism and corruption. The promises you made to the people of SPN will soon be forgotten as you will be too busy furthering your own interests .and getting rich. Our country is in a sad state..with huge problems that are getting worse every day..we need competent leaders..new directions and fresh ideas..you offer nothing..but more of the same…lets hope that this defeat will be the wake up call that the UPP desperately needs.

  7. Congrats Randy. Note those who wanted to take away your joy are quiet. No doubt the best they can do is show sour grapes. Tek that in you all… Now get ready for the trashing in the upcoming general elections (we brining back kong)
