Waiver on the Payment of ABST on Back-to-School Items
Cabinet at its meeting held on Wednesday, 23rd August, 2023, agreed to grant a waiver on the payment of the Antigua and Barbuda Sales Tax (ABST) on back-to-school items listed below during the period of Friday 1st September to Saturday 2nd September 2023 as follows:
• School uniforms (pants, shirts, skirts, blouses, jumpers, ties, and crests)
• Textbooks as provided on the ministry/school generated book list
• School bags with or without wheels
• Exercise books
Binders/Folder leaves
• Plastic book covers
• Erasers
• Crayons
• Highlighters
• White out/correction fluid
• Pencil cases/pouches
• Calculators
• School Shoes, Socks, belts
• School Physical Education uniform-shirts, skirts and pants
• Dictionary
• Lunch boxes/kits
• Graph paper/book
• Plastic sheet covers
• Pens/Pencils/Pencil sharpeners
• Water paints
• Markers
• Glue sticks
• Rulers/T-squares/Geometry Sets
• Tights, vests
