Baby with stage four cancer gets government help

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment in partnership with the Medical Benefits Scheme have come to the aid of Micah Kitt who was diagnosed with stage four cancer at the age of three months.

Micah, now eight months, has been suffering from stage four Neuroblastoma after his mother noticed that his stomach was not growing normally and took him to get a medical checkup.

It has not been easy for Micah but with the love and support from his biological, medical and religious family, he is on the right path. The Medical Benefits Scheme has assisted Micah with medical bills valued at over $20,000 US dollars.

We continue to wish Micah the best of health as his medical care continues.

  1. That is what you call a CARING Government. When the UPP was faced with medical issues like this they screamed out that they do not have money. A mother from Baldwin’s constituency approached him cause her baby needed to go to Barbados for emergency surgery. he let the women down and eventually the had to raise funds to send the woman and the baby to Barbados. This is not the first time that the government comes out to assist people that cannot help themselves. I think the minister needs to keep a list, not to blow his own trumpet, but just to remind us, so we won;t forget that easy. Cause we tend to forget these things very quickly. And when they help people they do not ask which party you support

  3. I am not one who normally comments on news items, but I wish the family of this little angel peace and comfort and to understand God is in control. I’m moved by this story and as I had a discussion with the Minister of Sports recently after a member of his family died, I must now shear my concern publicly as to the many persons who are diagnosed and have also died in Antigua and Barbuda as a result of cancer. I think it’s time for a proper study as to the cause. Is it our eating habits is it the question of all this cell towers areound the country, what is the underlying cause? We need to study this issue or many more will pass on and we will still be wondering the cause. As I said earlier I’m deeply concerned and I pray God lay his healing hands on this little angel
