A student was beaten and robbed today while walking to school at AUA, a fellow student has told Antigua Newsroom.

The incident happened “right at Jabberwok beach when two men jumped out and beat him and ran off with his wallet, laptop and iPad in his backpack.”

The student told ANR “there was a witness at the restaurant across the street from the beach who called the police but I don’t believe they found the guy.”

  1. Thought they said two guys? I pray they find them and lock them away and he recover everything

  2. It was just a matter of time before someone at Jabberwock was mugged and hurt. The Police know the vehicle registration number of the various thieves that frequent that beach. People are robbed there every month.

  3. Robbery after robbery at Jabberwock and yet the Police and Government do nothing. Maybe now that it is an AUA student, they might get off their collective fat asses and do something.

  4. Police patrols needed in plain clothes. The university also need to tell the students to walk in pairs. At University of the West Indies Cave hills, the students are told the same. We are living in a dangerous world , with lazy bums. Also that area is sort of quiet and prone this this type of crimes so very precaution should be taken to save life snd property.
We also boast of our three hundred and sixty five beaches and invites visitors to enjoy them. Well it’s time to start thinking about security , supported by police or military. We have the defense force in this area they should be able to provide top security to AUA and the surrounding environs.
