Attorney Thomas submitted a petition to the court to dismiss his client’s case, arguing that the prosecution has not provided sufficient evidence.
His client, John James, has been on trial for the past two weeks before Justice Tunde Bakre, accused of causing death by dangerous driving.
The case involves Elba Perez, who was struck by a vehicle on Joseph Lane on April 13, 2021, and later died in the hospital.
Perez’s medical report detailed severe injuries, including profuse bleeding, multiple fractures, and brain bleeding. The judge is currently preparing his ruling on the case.
