Attorney General Dismisses Lawsuit as Frivolous

Attorney General Steadroy Benjamin dismissed the lawsuit filed against the government over the arrest of Dolwin Alexander, a prominent Dominican businessman, as frivolous and baseless.

Alexander, wanted by French authorities based on an Interpol notice, sought damages exceeding EC$200,000, claiming wrongful arrest and inhumane treatment at the St John’s Police Station.

His lawyer, Wendel Robinson, contended the breach of Alexander’s freedom of movement and liberty.

Benjamin asserted that the claim lacked merit and would fail, describing it as vexatious.

Alexander further alleged false imprisonment and arbitrary arrest, revealing the deplorable conditions he endured during his detention.

    Sometimes it’s better to admit fault, and settle quickly rather than trying to pull a rabbit out of a hat.

  4. Cutie Benjamin reminds me of Gerald Watts; they pretend to know everything and know just a bit about anything. There’s a difference though; Cutie will try diplomacy to lie, while Watts will go into the gutters to cuss. They are two old incompetents who might be heading for their retirement homes soon. Gerald Watts is showing signs of being senile and we need to prevent him from embarrassing us any further.
