Attacker on the run after wounding a Liberta villager over a missing car phone charger

REAL NEWS: Another wounding incident is being investigated by the police, the fourth within three days.

Reports are that a Hamlet Road, Liberta man made a report to the Liberta Police Station that his hand was wounded by a machete inflicted by an All Saints villager.

The incident resulted in the victim receiving a laceration to his left hand.

Further reports are that he told the police that on Monday (March 6), he was hired by the alleged offender to wash and detail his motor vehicle, which was done.

However, about 10 a.m. the following day (Tuesday, March 7) while he was washing another vehicle in the vicinity of Genes Restaurant, the All Saints man drove up to him, began to curse him and accused him of stealing a cellular phone charger from out of his motor jeep.

He then reportedly armed himself with a machete, exited his vehicle and began to beat the victim about his body wounding him in the process.

Reportedly the victim had to be transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC) for treatment.

The police say an extensive search was carried out in the districts of All Saints and Liberta for the alleged offender, but he was not found.

Investigations are ongoing into the alleged offence which occurred at 10 a.m. on Tuesday (February 7).

Two persons were wounded with sharp objects in separate incidents on Saturday (March 4) in St. John’s while another was injured in English Harbour during a cutlass attack early Sunday morning (March 5).

  1. I just hate to hear the police say “an extensive search was carried out” or “they searched the nearby bushes and nothing was found or the perpetrator wasn’t found”. Is that all the police can do when it comes to investigating? Enquiring minds would like to know. I know a thief will never stay in the bushes and wait until the police come to play hide and seek with them. There are too much unsolved crimes in little Antigua. Even simple simple thefts go unsolved. All police do is take statements and wait for the public to give them a tip off. Commissioner Rodney…

It’s seems like People in this little Antigua want to take matters into their own hands and put themselves in serious problems for simple little things.Why is the perpetrator hiding after his foolish ignorant actions was committed just for a missing phone charger.Be a Man and turn yourself over to the Police you fool. Why are you running from the Police?
