Covid 19 prevention tools have been distributed to over 200 primary school students in Pares and Parham as part of the annual donation of school supplies by Member of Parliament (MP) for St Peters, Hon. Asot Michael.
Face masks, face visors and hand sanitizers are among items contained in the school bags presented to the students this week. As Antigua and Barbuda continues its difficult struggle with Covid 19, Hon. Michael says “it is extremely important for students (even those under 12 years) to be encouraged to develop the Covid19 prevention disciplines of washing and keeping hands clean; wearing masks and social distancing”.
The package of school supplies from the Member of Parliament for St Peters also include:
- Exercise books
- Pencil case
- Coloring Pencils
- Coloring crayons
- Water bottle
Hon. Michael has provided school kits to students at Pares and Parham Primary schools every year since he was elected as Parliamentary Representative for the St Peters Constituency in 2004.
He says successive governments of the UPP and ABLP have not provided adequate resources to meet the education, health care and economic development needs of constituents. In the circumstances, he is committed to do his very best “to provide as much as I can from my personal resources”.
