APUA Welcomes Twelve New Interns

APUA has welcomed 12 new candidates for the 2019 Summer Internship Programme.

From a pool of 271 applicants, these interns have been selected to work in
multiple departments throughout the company to include: Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Networking, Finance and Economy, Alternative Renewable Energy, Civil Engineering, Telecommunications, Customer Service, Geographic Information Systems, Human Resources and Transmission and Distribution.

This year’s theme is ‘Developing Professionals for the Future’. The programme comprises 6 (six) weeks;4 (four) days will be used to execute the assigned projects and Fridays will be dedicated to a series of learning sessions on various topics to include: Business Communication, Health, Safety and Wellness, Financial Management and Technology in the Workplace. Each intern has been assigned a mentor and a supervisor for the duration of the programme.

The successful candidates are: Antonique Lawson, Aleah Greene, Raychelle Raeburn, N’jedika Quinland, Sarwan Laville, Tijon Tonge, Shavani Stewart, Charissa Humphrey, Naleka Beckford, De-Vonte Hunte, Kianni Defreitas and Joelle Edwards.
APUA has invested approximately $50,000.00 XCD into the annual programme. Chairman of the APUA SIP Committee, Regis Burton, promises an experience designed for excellence and professional development for the “prestigious twelve”.
