APUA celebrates Staff Member for 46th Anniversary

The Antigua Public Utilities Authority, APUA, is happy to announce that it celebrated 46th years of operation on July 4th, 2019. This year’s theme is “Pride, Loyalty,
Everyday…APUA”.

As the Board of Commissioners, Minister of Public Utilities, Management and Staff of the Authority commemorate this milestone in the history of the Authority, APUA recognizes its current longest-serving employee Mr. Keithroy “Ishan” George for his 41 years of continued service and dedication and Mrs. Sandra Huntre who is the first recipient of the General Manager’s Award.

Mr. George started his career at APUA on September 6th, 1977; 3 years after the establishment of the Antigua Public Utilities Authority under the Public Utilities Act of Antigua and Barbuda. Keithroy, through commitment and diligence, has worked his way through the ranks and presently serves as Foreman ‘A’ in the Customer Services Department of the Electricity Business Unit.

Keithroy is a well-known, respected and enthused member of the APUA family and a stalwart among his peers. Mr. George has been presented with an award and a token of appreciation at the APUA 46th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service at the Ebenezer Methodist Church on July 4th, 2019.

Mrs. Hunte is recognized for personifying this year’s Anniversary theme. Sandra has performed consistently and takes pride in herself and the work she produces. She demonstrates an incomparable pride in her work; exemplifies loyalty to the company and goes above and beyond each and every day.

  1. Congrats Ishan George….41 years of service!!! This is definitely an indication of dedication & commitment to an organization…. Besides a plaque & perhaps a little celebration, I only hope justice was given to you throughout your years of service within the organization relative to promotions…
