Lawyers who failed to prevent the sale of the luxury yacht Alfa Nero are planning to appeal the decision.

The High Court rejected their request for an injunction to halt the sale, prompting the lawyers to file an appeal next week.

The yacht has been at the center of a long-running dispute and has been docked in Falmouth Harbour for over a year.

The current owner, Yulia Guryeva-Motlokhov, daughter of Russian tycoon Andrey Gurvey, faces sanctions.

The sale to former Google boss Eric Schmidt was expected to be finalized, but legal challenges continue to delay the process.

  3. This ship has caused us enough money already. If we are not going to get any money for, it let us sail it to the middle of the Atlantic and allow it to sink to the bottom of the ocean. Hurricane season is apon us.

Why all these educated dunce in government can’t grow the economy without depending on what’s not theirs?
They got USD 66.7 unearned income from the Lazarenko funds.
They got countless grants during the Covid 19 pandemic. Yet, no stimulus
Tell the people wah you did with all them dollars, Mr 300 million dollar man.

  5. ABLP has never seen a law suit that they don’t like. It is the only thing that we produce locally. With no real investors in sight, we have now resorted to law suits to grow our GDP. Sad state of affairs.

  6. Don’t sell it , let’s use it as a luxury Caribbean tour yacht. We can also use it as a luxury sleep over. Gastón Buyum built its own luxury pier and turn over Barnicle Point to the government If the draft is enough. Just saying, remember Antigua is now the owner.

This is where going to the Privy Council instead of the CCJ could ruin the deal.
How soon can a Privy Council date be set?
