Pointe Xpress – Antigua and Barbuda’s Immigration Department is set to undergo a major restructuring to enhance its overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Starting from August 1, 2023, the department will be headed by a Chief Immigration Officer (CIO) with two deputies.
One deputy will oversee operations, while the other will handle administration.
The restructuring aims to streamline the department, aligning it with other law enforcement agencies within the government.
The move is expected to bring about increased professionalism and better coordination, making the Immigration Department more proficient in its critical role of managing immigration and border security.
