Alex should be given a second chance at life. He was kept against his will and had his passport taken away by his employers. He was treated horribly in almost slave-like conditions. What he did was wrong and he did the time for the crime committed.
Should he not be allowed to work and feed himself and rebuild a life? Imagine what would happen if was repatriated and he is deemed to have brought shame to The People’s Republic of China. Give him a chance!
If this was your black brother from another island would you share the same sentiments?? Asking for a friend.
I agree
I suppose in this life all human beings who serve their time in prison deserve to be given a second chance at a successful life. The problem that he is going to run into is our country’s history, our peopleand the fact that many have gone before him and didn’t get a second chance. So many of us do not care about his circumstances at the moment. We will see what the powers that are do.
While I have no objections to this impassionate plea and persons begging for a second chance for him, I hope that the same effort is put out for other persons who run afoul of the law. Everyone deserves a second chance but this cannot be just limited to Chinese, Syrians, Lebanese, Americans, English and other international citizens. The same brush that we use to darb and paint our citizens and Caricom citizens must be the same one we use to paint the others
To err is human.to forgive is Devine..Give him a chance.remember 70 times 7..
THOSE TEACHINGS WERE FORCED ON THE WRONG PEOPLE.
He deserves a second chance in life.
He was traffic and was going through things that no one didn’t pay attention to.
We are all humans and we deserve second chances.
We can either rise and conquer every obstacles or remain the same.
Is this guy African? The plight I can recall…
Black white chinie serían who ever we all have flesh and blood he was treated badle and I have been in this place to buy things if you don’t have 5 dollars he tell you go ahead that’s the kind of person he was ok he was being bulled and it’s unfair he deserve a chance here save Alex
If this was a black man you all who talking about a second chance and being so compassionate would be holding his actions against him until he is in a box. Some of you would advocate for death on a black man’s head. I expect nothing different from black people because we hate our own and embrace ur masters, oppressors and those who are lighter.
Were they exploited and send here via human trafficking?
At least the big portrait of the Whiteman that prominently displayed in their homes with reverence, is gone!
And how about those of us who have brought up hardworking boys to respect the law and be upstanding citizens in the country, been educated never been in trouble and respect the opposite sex.
Where’s their rights and reward for being good citizens?
I’VE ALWAYS TOLD MY SONS THAT BEING BAD IS EASY, AND TAKES NO EFFORT.
My mantra is work hard and make the most of any opportunities that come your way. Simple!
Why has the owners of the XPZ not been charged with human trafficking? When the owner of Wendy’s and Cheryl at the club on Nevis Street were found to be holding the passports of the dancers, this was used to charge them with Human Trafficking.
ARE THERE DIFFERENT RULES AND LAWS FOR THE CHINESE? And why hasn’t his publicity hungry lawyer pursued this on his behalf and for justice?
Perfectly put Reds! I’ve met him he’s the nicest man you could meet- it should not matter the colour of his skin! I told him the only thing he did wrong was he should have made sure his employer was in the shop beforehand!
In life some people will react based on passed experiences they’ve been through which can make them very dangerous especially when their backs are against the wall and they see no way out.
To be in a position not able to help yourself is one thing but to be held against your will with little to no control of your life is a totally different story.
With all he’s been through I believe he can and will do good. He is worth giving a second chance and it’s good enough that he actually owned up to his actions regardless what he did.
Well said everyone
Second chance my big toe! This illegal criminal needs to be deported posthaste! The last think Antigua needs is more foreign criminals.
Agreed 👍
Justice for Alex, any human being that has been through what he went through deserves a second chance to live life to its fullest. I pray GOD Favors you Alex 🙏
500 years, post slavery and Antiguans are still governed by turning the other cheek.
It is unfortunate that we have a broken immigration Service that allowed Antigua to be used as a criminal dumping ground.
If an Antiguan committed similar crime in China as this unhinged Chinese committed. What part of China could an Antiguan be pleading for a second chance? Immigration should stop the non sense and shipped him out of Antigua.
He has done time and still abusing the system, he should leave voluntarily or assisted by immigration.
