Prime Minister Gaston Browne has announced that Antiguans and Barbudans will go to the polls on January 18, 2023.
Speaking at the launch of his party’s candidates, Prime Minister spoke about his administration’s achievements to include housing, education, healthcare, technology and tourism.
On December 20th, Governor General Sir. Rodney Williams will issue the Writ of Elections. December 28 will be the nomination of candidates to contest the elections on January 18, 2023.
Prime Minster called on the electorate to ensure that the competent Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party team is returned to office. Referring to the Opposition UPP, “Do not risk the governance of this country to a team of incompetent persons,” Prime Minister Browne said.
“You are the wind behind our sails. We ask you to continue to support us. We will continue to give you the respect that you deserve as we work for your development and as we take this nation to the next level of development the country deserves,” Prime Minister Browne said.

3) city West hope I have this right . I mean grays farm right down to five island . Richard Lewis the next possible UPP leader will win this seat. UPP lost it in the wave and Gastón Browne and ABLP popularity. Not this time around.
4) St. Phillip Bowen might be able to take out Westan . This has been a UPP seat and can return. Bowen is from the area but still hanging over is head is Tessa Bartley murder. Lenox Westan is unpopular. Shawn Nicholas would have beaten him already. Even before going to the polls.
5) A new kid is born and like the new Grenadian Pm . Sugars with take out Samantha Marshall in a short political life. He should be able to grow into a formidable politician. For her to win she will be heavily dependent on the white voters .

6) Can Jonathan Joseph take out Maulwin Joseph it has been accomplished before. This is a worthy fight. The battle of the Josephs.
7) Barbuda is always in play but with the PLH project in progress ABLP stand a great chance. Ms Nedde is the daughter of a wealthy and popular Barbuda. If she cannot beat Trevor Walker , then who can.
8) For upp to win the election this is one seat that they should pull off an upset. If after there many years of sending Robin to parliament and there is little of no development of all these Decades then when.
9) Cutie is never a truthful and straight forward individual. Always shady. His opponent is confident and can. However another must win if ABLP is to win the government
10) Dean Jonás and Serpent. This is. Battle that should go down to the wire . This seat has been going back and fro . If upp to form government this seat could be duca.
11) Harold Lovell if you cannot win this seat then it will be a walk in the park for ABLP. Also without a victory it is the end of your political life .

Last night I was so sleepy while writing. Guess anyone reading will still understand. In 2004 elections at this stage i had already felt the blue wave and UPP victory. In 2014 I felt the nation moving towards Gaston Brown and big red. This time I am not feeling anything. It could be a tight one , with the ruling party incumbents are a bit shakey.
These are ABLP safe seats – Gastón Browne , María Browne , Chet Greene and Fanandez .
All other seats in full play. It now depends on campaigning and ground games. I don’t think all the giving away will impact the outcome, except in St.Peter’s a spoilt people. Talking about ham and turkey , duty free concessions, fuel decrease. Not even issues like water, late salaries etc.
This election will be which government the people trust to lead the country forward. Which prime minister and team the people trust to lead? All the big bill boards and wasting of money will not win votes this time except in St.Peter’s . ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, Dec. 24 — A magistrate on Wednesday charged an opposition legislator with murder in connection with a scuffle that led to the shooting death of a woman, the legislator’s lawyer said.
The legislator, Sherfield Bowen, was formally charged with murdering Tessa Barthley, said his lawyer, Dane Hamilton. Mr. Bowen was not required to enter a plea.
Ms. Barthley, 22, was shot in the neck on Dec. 16 at Mr. Bowen’s office. The police said Mr. Bowen’s gun went off during a scuffle. Ms. Barthley was put on life support but [DIED TUESDAY] of a heart attack, hospital officials said.
Mr. Bowen was a member of Parliament and a former member of Antigua’s governing party.
