(State media) — ABS TV/Radio’s senior news and sports reporter, Terry Andrew is now headed for The People’s Republic of China, where he will be participating in a 4-month training course for journalists from the English-speaking Caribbean.
It is being made possible by the China Latin America and the Caribbean Press Center of the China International Press Communication Center (CIPCC).
The CIPCC will hold lectures on the political, economic and social aspects of China, conduct journalism training and organize internships with Chinese media.
The programme will also include meetings with government officials, industry representatives, think tanks, media houses and visits to various provinces and municipalities.
Participants will also have the opportunity to cover major domestic and diplomatic events in China.

He’ll learn how to write 100% propaganda (but prob not be aware of it), will only be told and shown exactly what they want to promote….if he was a tru journalist he cld be questioning about the years of abject abuse of the kidnapped Uyghurs and Kazakhs in their ‘secret’ Chinese work camps, the 50+ years of ‘re-education’ ie torture of any Tibetan who’s found even with a pic of Dalai Lama, why they ‘trod’ thru so much of Africa looking for minerals and left vast tracts of land destroyed and of no use to anyone etc., etc. It is a strictly Communist country after all, denial of all negative/bad and with the top guns having extraordinary wealth, the rest mostly poor and struggling – in what is an exquisitely beautiful country 😖

China…to learn journalism? Who thought of this? Haven’t you ever wondered why you never hear anything negative about China from Chinese media?
There is still covid in China. Hope he is safe and don’t bring it to Antigua. I certainly would be staying away from China at this time. What can China teach about journalism when they don’t have a free press?
