Antiguan National, Stuart Archibald, to Receive ‘Outstanding Achievements in Corporate America’ Award at 30th Annual CARAH Awards Gala

The Institute of Caribbean Studies (ICS) is delighted to announce the inclusion of Mr. Stuart Archibald, a distinguished Antiguan national, among the esteemed honorees at the eagerly awaited 30th Annual Caribbean American Heritage (CARAH) Awards) Awards Gala. Mr. Archibald will be bestowed with the prestigious ‘Outstanding Achievements in Corporate America’ Award in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the corporate financial landscape.

Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Archibald has consistently demonstrated exemplary leadership and innovation, leaving an enduring impact on the corporate financial services sector. His unwavering dedication, pioneering spirit, and commitment to upholding corporate excellence serve as a shining example for future generations.   Archibald’s selection for the ‘Outstanding Achievements in Corporate America’ Award underscores not only his remarkable career but, also his steadfast dedication to advancing excellence within corporate America.

This prestigious event, themed “A Celebration of Excellence and Service,” is scheduled for Friday November 17th 2023, at the illustrious JW Marriott in Washington, D.C.   The occasion is dedicated to recognizing the exceptional achievements and groundbreaking contributions of eight Caribbean American industry leaders across various sectors, including Arts, Entrepreneurship, Science and Technology, Sports, and Community Service.  The CARAH Awards Gala is a hallmark event that honors outstanding individuals and their exceptional achievements in the Caribbean American community.

Stuart Archibald, a tenacious and accomplished executive, has left an indelible mark on leading financial services and Fortune 500 companies worldwide, guiding them to unparalleled levels of financial prosperity. In August 2023, Stuart assumed the role of Head of Strategy at TIAA Wealth Management, where he now serves as Senior Managing Director, overseeing wealth segmentation, digital strategy, and the pursuit of growth opportunities.

Prior to his role at TIAA, Stuart held a prominent position as Head of U.S. Wealth Management Strategy at JP Morgan Chase and Co., where he played a pivotal role in propelling the division to new heights and left a transformative impact. His strategic expertise was honed during his time at Booz and Company (formerly Booz Allen Hamilton), where he orchestrated strategy engagements across diverse industries and esteemed institutions.   Stuart’s journey began as an engineer at Lucent Technology’s Bell Laboratories, dedicating over seven years to pioneering research and development of 3rd generation cellular technology.

In a recent interview titled ‘Meet the Honourees,’ conducted by Dr. Claire Nelson, Founder and President of ICS, Archibald shared valuable perspectives on the corporate financial services sector’s engagement with Caribbean communities in their pursuit of the American dream.

During the interview, Archibald emphasized the paramount importance of educating individuals on the fundamentals of financial literacy, He said “strong emphasis needs to be placed on the significance of saving especially geared towards retirement planning. His insights shed light on the essential steps required to empower individuals to secure their financial future.  Archibald further underscored the substantial value of building a client base especially among those with fewer financial resources He said “They may have limited financial resources but this approach is deeply rooted in the fundamental principles of financial education, demonstrating a commitment to providing access to financial services for all”.

As the recipient of the ‘Outstanding Achievements in Corporate America’ award, Archibald is wholeheartedly dedicated to imparting essential money management skills and instilling fundamental discipline among young Caribbean nationals.  He said “This initiative aims to empower them to build wealth, inevitably making substantial contributions to the welfare of the Caribbean diaspora”.  This commitment aligns seamlessly with the mission and vision of ICS, and by extension, embodies the ethos of the 30th Annual CARAH Awards Gala. These awards, integral to the organization’s core mission, play a pivotal role in fostering enlightening discussions about the future of America and the American dream. Stuart’s academic achievements match his career success, holding B.Sc.(Eng.) and M.Sc.(Eng.) degrees from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad, and an MBA from the prestigious Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. His educational journey has taken him from St. Vincent, his birthplace, to Antigua, where he grew up, and to Trinidad, where he pursued his undergraduate studies.
