Antiguan Makes History as Delta Air Lines Pilot

Latesha Latoya Azille has become the first female Antiguan to join a major U.S. airline, taking her seat as First Officer with Delta Air Lines.

She received her wings during a ceremony at the Delta Flight Museum in Atlanta on 19 March 2025, part of the airline’s 100th anniversary and Women’s History Month celebrations.

Azille began her aviation career in 2016 with LIAT and later flew with World Atlantic Airlines. Despite setbacks, including the COVID-19 pandemic, she continued to rise through the ranks.

A University of the West Indies graduate, Azille credits her Antiguan upbringing and education for her success. She now mentors aspiring female pilots and hopes her journey will inspire young women across the Caribbean.

  1. If a man said that he would only mentor a specific GENDER … I wonder what the reaction is … segmentation by gender is wrong regardless of who is doing it. However, congrats and continued success. And they wonder why men backlash against FEMINISM.

    • Men feeling threatened by women’s success is nothing new under the sun. Many relationships have ended because of this. The male EGO is bigger than his sperm shooter.

  2. Well it’s great seeing something like this. The aviation field lacks diversity. Women account for what, less than 3 % worldwide in aviation? I don’t see nothing wrong with mentoring women into a male dominated field. Get over ya’ll selves — HAPPY WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH RAINMAKER!!! GYP

  3. Imagine being upset during Women’s History Month because a woman was highlighted for mentoring other women into a male-dominated field. The audacity… how dare she inspire women?

  4. This small nation has so many talents that I believe when God was sharing talents he gave Antigua and Barbuda a special dose of it. I’m so proud when my people achieve. Especially when they are overseas. And this one is even more special as she is a woman.
