Antiguan Cricketer Devon ‘Boobie’ Thomas Faces Multiple Charges by ICC for Anti-Corruption Violations

Antiguan cricket player Devon “Boobie” Thomas has been accused by the International Cricket Council (ICC) of violating the Anti-Corruption codes.

The ICC has taken immediate action by provisionally suspending Thomas after charging him on behalf of Sri Lanka Cricket, the Emirates Cricket Board, and the Caribbean Premier League.

According to a statement released on the ICC webpage, Thomas faces seven counts related to “manipulating or participating in an agreement to fix or attempt to fix, manipulate, or improperly influence the outcome, progress, conduct, or other aspects of matches in the Lanka Premier League 2021.”

Additionally, he has been charged under various other codes, including the failure to disclose complete details of an approach during the Lanka Premier League 2021, Abu Dhabi T10 2021, and CPL 2021.

Thomas, who serves as a wicketkeeper and batter for the West Indies team, last played in December 2022 during his Test debut in Adelaide against Australia.

His international cricket career includes 21 One Day Internationals (ODIs), 12 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), and one Test match.
