Also seated in the gallery listening intently to Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browneas he delivered his national statement before the United Nations General Assembly on Friday was a small group of Antiguan and Barbudan students from Monroe University.
Their attendance was arranged mainly through the initiative of Tenisha Sebastian, a graduate of Monroe who has maintained keen interest in the affairs and well-being of the new students from her home country who are attending the university.

She received willing and collaborative support from the Antigua and Barbuda Mission, which made it possible for PM Browne to meet with the students following his address.
The exchange at the offices of the Antigua and Barbuda Mission allowed the Prime Minister to reflect with the students on some of the key points of his statement as well as share his thoughts on the strides Antigua and Barbuda continue to make as a developing nation.
Prime Minister Browne also assured the attentive group that he would make sure some of the challenges they were facing as Antiguan and Barbudan students are addressed, emphasizing the governmentโs commitment to all segments of the diaspora.
Also sharing words of inspiration with the students were Antigua and Barbudaโs Minister of Foreign Affairs the Hon. E.P. Chet Greene, who encouraged them to maintain focus on achieving academic success and continue to make their families and the nation proud.
