The government is reviewing a list of individuals identified by U.S. authorities as Antiguan and Barbudan citizens residing illegally in the United States. Chief of Staff Lionel Max Hurst explained that some names on the list may belong to individuals who lived in Antigua and Barbuda but are not citizens, prompting their removal for accuracy.
While the Trump Administration’s stance on these protocols remains uncertain, Hurst expressed confidence in their effectiveness. He noted plans to integrate deported individuals into the workforce, particularly in construction, given the skills many migrants acquire. However, those with criminal records will be handled separately in coordination with law enforcement.
A recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) list names about 110 Antiguan and Barbudan nationals for possible deportation, presenting a significant issue for the government.

Mmmmmm
Most of them are definitely not Antiguan. The Antiguans are going to need there space it’s a bit to crowded.🇦🇬
The 110 Antiguans and Barbudans on the list are all dangerous criminals, not merely just been deported because they are in the US illegally! ICE hasn’t dealt with the lesser status people as yet! So are we going to integrate harden criminals in our community without proper vetting?🤔
Highly suspicious if you ask me!
Sorry for your bad experiences in Antigua Sir/Madam. Yes, many Antiguan born including myself have taken up residence abroad. The harsh truth is that there’s a right way and a wrong way and a wrong way. You should pursue the right way, and work hard like hell to elevate yourself and families. WHEN YOU DON’T FOLLOW THE LAWS, YOU SHOULD BE DEPORTED TO THE COUNTRY OF YOUR BIRTH. By the way, I’m not fan of this US President.
@space needed did you see the list to know most are not Antiguans? I had a landlord who had 5 children in the usa all of them illegal. Nevertheless due diligence needed to be applied here to handle the criminals.
It’s commendable that Antigua is taking the initiative to review the U.S. deportation list and explore workforce integration for returnees. This is a proactive approach that acknowledges the reality of deportations while also aiming to provide meaningful opportunities for those returning home. However, the success of this initiative will depend on the actual implementation. What kind of job training and support systems will be in place? Without proper resources, returnees could struggle to reintegrate, which may lead to further social and economic challenges.
I hope this initiative is accompanied by a strong vetting process to ensure public safety. Some deportees may have criminal records, so while reintegration is key, there must also be safeguards in place to balance rehabilitation with community security.
Gaston should deny any plane from landing with deportees.
Wonderful job, once they are Antiguans and Barbudans, see what can be done, but if they belong to other nationalities, send them back to where they belong…
Deport some Jamaicans fu mek room fu 🇦🇬ns!
Some ah dem ah gloat bout Antiguan deportees as if whole heap ah dem ppl nar get send back ah yard too. And for the record, I said what I said — I don’t give a rats arse who’s offended. Who bex can go ded! 😝😛😜🤪
It is clear that many in this number are persons with Antiguan & Barbudan citizenship who may not necessarily be born Antiguan and Barbudan. Some of these persons left Antigua several decades ago for the US. They know very little about Antigua except that it’s the place where they last resided.. They will have a tough time reintegrating into an Antiguan society that they know very little about and one that has changed drastically since they left. Many will be coming home with nothing……no money, no clothes, except for what they have on their backs. For most of them, beginning a new life in Antigua will be stiff, hard and extremely troublesome. Significant counseling might be required for these persons as a new life here might be both a shock and a great impact on them.
