Antigua Pro Racing Shines at Bimma Cup in Barbados
Antigua Pro Racing made waves this past weekend at the Bimma Cup, hosted at the iconic Vaucluse Raceway in Barbados. The event was marked by challenging conditions, as scattered showers transformed the track into a muddy battleground.
Despite the slick terrain, the Antigua Pro Racing team demonstrated adaptability and skill, with Michael Gordon claiming 1st place in the Rally Sprint category.
The Bimma Cup, a beloved motorsport event in the Caribbean, has a storied history of bringing together the region’s most passionate racers for a weekend of high-octane action.
Vaucluse Raceway, nestled in the rolling hills of Barbados, has long been a favorite venue for its vibrant atmosphere. Over the years, it has become a proving ground for rally enthusiasts, blending technical skill with a passion for racing.
Antigua Pro Racing fielded a 7-racer team for this year’s event, illustrating the commitment to the sport within the island’s motorsport community. The team faced stiff competition from top racers across the Caribbean, but Michael Gordon’s performance in Rally Sprint was a standout, winning 1st place overall.
This year’s participation builds on Antigua’s expanding presence in the regional motorsport scene, further solidifying the island’s reputation as a rising force in racing.
Looking ahead, Antigua Pro Racing is excited to partner with the Bimma Cup to launch an entirely new event, Bimma Cup Antigua, anticipated to debut in early 2025.
