High-level talks were urgently convened at the Antigua Port Authority offices following the tragic death of worker Denroy Harrigan.
The 58-year-old lost his life in a workplace accident at Deep Water Harbour when he was pinned against a reversing truck.
Safety concerns and responsibility were discussed in the meeting, which included Harrigan’s family, the shipping agent, and truck owners/operators.
Antigua Port Authority General Manager, Darwin Telemacque, expressed the willingness to improve safety measures and provide assistance.
The investigation aims to prevent future accidents, ensuring worker welfare and honoring Harrigan’s memory.
Further action plans will be developed as a result of the meeting. (Pointe Xpress)
