Antigua Met Office: No upgrade to Tropical Cyclone Alert

No upgrade to Tropical Cyclone Alert

The Met Office has decided not to upgrade the Tropical Cyclone Alert issued earlier today to a Tropical Storm Watch this afternoon.

Monitoring will continue and the matter will be examined again closely early tomorrow, at which time, a watch may be required.

The deferral of the watch is largely due to the further slowing of the forward speed of Tropical Storm Philippe.

The Met Office reports that there continue to be higher than usual uncertainties with the forecast track and sustained winds of this system hence we need to stay on guard.

NODS continues to urge residents to ensure they’re in a state of preparedness and continue to monitor the media for further updates. –

  1. From what the international forecasters are saying, this storm should not have any impact on Antigua and Barbuda.

  2. Not even rain we getting. Everything even hurricane staying away from Antigua which is not a bad thing in that respect.
