The General Secretary of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party has shared details about upcoming polls to choose the caretaker for All Saints West.

Mary Clare Hurst confirmed that Peter Wickham from Barbados and Don Anderson from Jamaica will conduct the polls. The exact date is not set but is expected before Labour Week festivities.
At an executive meeting, the party’s 17 branches voted for separate polls to select the caretaker. Leading candidates Lamin Newton and Regis Burton will be assessed for constituency support by registered voters.
The agreement between the candidates, approved by the party’s executive, will yield poll results available to the full executive later.

Using two pollsters to carry out polls on a single election is strange and does not yield a true and accurate indication of the people’s choice.
