The 2024/2025 cruise season officially commenced with the arrival of Carnival UK’s Arvia, the first of its fleet to homeport at Antigua Cruise Port. The ship is expected to bring over 19,000 passengers throughout the season, underscoring Antigua’s growing reputation as a key player in the regional cruise industry.
Since the island’s first homeporting season two years ago, passenger numbers have surged by an impressive 150%, reflecting the success of the government’s strategic investments in cruise infrastructure.
Luxury also took center stage with SeaDream II beginning its third homeporting season, further highlighting Antigua’s appeal to boutique vessels alongside major cruise liners.
Gasper P. George, General Manager of Antigua Cruise Port, lauded the achievements during this season’s launch, emphasizing the collaboration between stakeholders and the long-term vision driving Antigua’s cruise tourism growth.
“Strategic investments and partnerships are fueling Antigua’s rise as a premier Caribbean destination,” he remarked.
Hon. Wondering how much money businesses made it would be good to know that, plenty people and not much money no mex no sense

At one hand you ask a question yet on the other hand you give the answer. I wonder who gave you the answer that not much money for the businesses.
In financial analysis there is a rule in forecasting. It’s called average spending. Not everyone spend the same amount of money. And not everyone spend at the same place. Even taking a taxi is spending money. And taxi drivers have already admitted that this year was their best year ever. They even awarded the minister for this. So the averyage spending per cruise ship passenger is US$100.00 multiply this by 8700, it means that the visitors spending in Antigua for that day was US$870,000.00 converted to EC$2,349,000.00. Pedrhaps the majority of this went to the taxi drivers or the Tour Operator. Many tourists book their tours upfront online. But that is regarded as spending on Island. I have friend coming on Thursday and have booked their tours already. I’ll only have a few hours to spend with them before they go back on the ship.
But people like you have an agenda and like to spew pure stupidity for others to swallow. Good luck, but not this guy. I’ll always expose you guys and girls.
