Antigua Computer Technology (ACT) is proud to announce that it has officially joined the United Nations Global Compact, making history as the first business in Antigua and Barbuda to participate in the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative.
This milestone reinforces ACT Antigua’s commitment to ethical business practices, corporate responsibility, and sustainability.
As a Participant of the UN Global Compact, ACT joins a global movement of businesses working to align their strategies and operations with The Ten Principles covering human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption, while actively supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“For over 35 years, ACT Antigua has led the way in innovation and
technology in the Caribbean. Now, we are taking that leadership further by committing to sustainability and responsible business practices through the UN Global Compact. We are honoured to be the first company in Antigua and Barbuda to take this step, and we hope to inspire others to join this global movement,” said Salomon Doumith, Managing Director & CEO of Antigua Computer Technology (ACT).
Commitment to Transparency and Action
As part of its commitment, ACT Antigua will integrate The Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact into its corporate culture, operations, and decision-making.
Additionally, the company will submit an annual Communication on Progress (CoP) report to ensure transparency and accountability in its sustainability journey.
Through its participation, ACT Antigua gains access to a global network of over 20,000 companies across 160+ countries, along with valuable resources, guidance, and best practices to drive meaningful impact.
A Sustainable Future for Antigua & the Caribbean
Since its founding in 1989, ACT has been dedicated to “Bringing our Community into the Future Through Technology.”
Today, as the largest technology enterprise in the Caribbean, ACT provides network infrastructures, data center facilities, cybersecurity, computer sales and repair services, internet services, and much more to customers locally and regionally.
By joining the UN Global Compact, ACT Antigua reaffirms its commitment to technological innovation that fosters sustainable development while promoting ethical business practices and environmental stewardship throughout the Caribbean.
“Sustainability is not just a responsibility; it is an opportunity to build a better future for our business, our customers, and our region,” added Doumith.
