The lively streets of St John’s witnessed the opening of Antigua Carnival 2023, featuring a vibrant parade and a touching tribute to the iconic Burning Flames band.

Hailed as musical ambassadors for Antigua and Barbuda, the band members were honored during the festivities.

Creative Industries Minister Daryll Matthew commended the band’s contribution, setting the carnival tone with their Jam Pond sessions and weeklong dances.

Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the return of Carnival brought joy to the nation.

The Festivals Commission and the Ministry ensured a full program of high-quality events.

Antigua’s Carnival 2023 runs from July 27 to August 8, promising days of cultural celebration.
