  1. It’s really sad for those who possibly sacrificed to allow their children to achieve are now subject to this type of treatment.
Maybe they think they will not become old!
The same stick you measure with will be used to measure you
    Think about it!!!!

  2. I agree with your statement. When I reflect on how children can neglect their parents, it deeply saddens me. That’s why I’m pouring my energy into studying and working hard every day, aiming to achieve something meaningful in my life. I’m driven by the vision of standing by my mother’s side and providing her with the best life possible once I succeed.

  3. I used to wonder before how children can just abandon their parents and I thought so horrible if them, especially having multiple children. Now experience has shown me why (not for all cases). A lot of them treat their kids like shit. Abandoned and abused them but guess they never expected that these children will also get to adulthood and they will get to old age. I now ask, what have they done to their children? Gone are the day that children take care of them because they name parents. Children today are treating them how they were treat.

    • @QuaRav.
While abandoning parents is heartrending, you do make valid points in your comment. It is highly unlikely that parents who loved, cared for and cherished their children in their formative years and later would be treated in.this way. I would venture to say that some, though not all of these abandoned parents are of what I refer to as of the “ram goat mentality’ which is to say the fathers scattered their seeds here, there and everywhere in their prime without showing the responsibility of being good role models and parents to.their offspring. Those children , now adults, have not forgotten how they were neglected when they needed a caring father most and most likely have ignored those who did not care for them. You reap.what you sow. Sad but true.

  4. This has been a horrible and awful growing trend right across the Caribbean. It is sad that families would abandon their elderly parents and grandparents in hospitals whilst some of them collecting and enjoying their social security cheques and benefits. There must be a “next of kin” who signs for and on behalf of these senior citizens when they are admitted to hospital and these persons should be held to account.
Once again I stress – how we treat the elderly, the mentally challenged, the homeless and children among us will define us as a nation. These people have played their part and the least we can do is to ensure that they have a dignified life.

  5. @QuaRav you are right. Parents who loved and took care of their children are hardly neglected. It is the ones who treated their children like trash and didn’t take care of them who are abandoned. Again, they never expected to become old. I have a father who has never taken care of me. I watched my mother struggle with us. I have forgiven him but there’s no way if something happens to him right now I am going to saddle the debt of taking care of him now. He will definitely be left at the hospital! Parents, there’s no gusty that your children will take care of you, however, the ones who love unconditionally and take care of their children will never be forgotten.

  6. Really? I am talking from experience. Children who parents take care of them and sacrifice for them are mostly the ones that will abandon their parents.
Take this from me, Some children are entitled, spoile and horrible. They think only about themselves.
