Antigua Cabinet Highlights Efforts to Improve Potable Water Supply

0

CABINET NOTES:

The Minister of Public Utilities provided a report to the Cabinet on the provision of potable water to homes, businesses, and institutions.

The recently commissioned Fort James Plant can produce 1 million gallons of potable water daily, serving several areas, including Villa, Yorks, Upper Gambles, Fort Road, Point, and Cruise Ships.

An Ultra Filtration Plant from Dubai is being prepared to eliminate debris during rough seas.

The Cabinet was also informed about the need for refurbishment of the RO Plants at Crabbs, which contribute nearly 60% of Antigua’s potable water.

The Port is currently supplying government institutions with potable water using a five-thousand-gallon truck owned by the Ministry of Works.
