CABINET NOTES:

An agreement will be entered into shortly regarding the brewery at Crabbes Peninsula.

An Antiguan company has agreed to utilize its own and borrowed resources from a local bank, in order to proceed with the re-development of the Antiguan Brewery.

More than $16.5 million dollars will be borrowed for the investment; the loan is to be repaid over fifteen (15) years.

Two other investment groups will hold shares in the brewery to include NAMCO, which will hold 20% of the shares, and the German experts will hold 15%.

  1. The ever present Antigua Brewery story at election time from Lester time to now. When will the Brewery come. Now it is coming with the involvement of NAMCO. The sooner Antigua and Barbuda get rid of Gaston and NAMCO the better. Wake up Antiguans.

  2. This is one project I would advise the government not to mention anything about until it has come to fruition. I know politics that is involved in it. Therefore, I would just leave it alone. When it happens, it happens. The beer industry is one big mafia organization. Or with a nice word conglomerate. Just like the cement industry

    • FROM THE SIDELINE this is one time I agree with you since this Brewery issue is like a recurring decimal on the eve of every election. Perhaps it is too late for you to give your icon Gaston any advice on this one.

  3. The Government would be throwing 20% down the cesspool. By the way, there was a company a few years back. It had an interest into reopening of that Brewery. What has become of that German company? Why would this Administration invest the peoples money into this Beer Brewery? The operating cost is going to kill that business.
